While visiting the Animal Shelter is West Jordan we met a Border Collie who looked like he might need a home. It's always hard to tell if they will be a good match but we decided to take a chance. He is very timid and one minute runs up for loves and then next minute runs away from us. He won't come inside or use the stairs. I think he is afraid of them. Often he will put his paws on the first or second step and then wait there looking nervous. If we coax him a little (with a little tug on his collar) he will usually come, but he hurries and gets off of them as quick as possible.
Foxy has been having a hard time adjusting. She doesn't want a brother. We think she is a little jealous. We are hoping that a few more days will help her warm up to him. If not we may have to find him a new home. They did finally seem to have a moment of bonding tonight, but then Foxy was right back to being grumpy again.
We are also having a hard time picking a name. So far we have:
Buster (provided by the little girls next door)
Indy (provided by my Mom)
Chewy (provided by me)
Pogi (handsome in Tagalog)
Bruce Wayne (because he looks like Batman from the back).
The girls next door came to visit and met him and christened him Buster. They always call him that when they come to visit. We will keep you posted if he becomes a permanent member of our family or if we find him a new family.

You could call him Jake and then have your own smelly Jake in the house.
