Benson's 1st Trip to the Zoo

Kevin took a day off of work so we could go the the zoo before the dinosaur exhibit became extinct (ha, ha, ha). Benson seemed to enjoy himself and like seeing the animals. He was a little bit afraid of the dinosaurs. We took Grandma Grayce and Grandma Peggy with us. Read on and join us in reliving our adventure.

Let's Go Exploring! 

our first stop was the small greenhouse. Not a whole lot to see.

Let's meet our first dinosaur!

They were actually pretty life like and some even spit at you. I saw quite a few kids burst into tears when the dinosaur roared at them. Benson wasn't so sure about the dinos

Next Stop... Elephants and Rhinos.

Next on our agenda...

stop and drive the diggers. Notice the tractors in the background. They are building a new exhibit for the bears, seals, etc. Then off to see the giraffes.

Lions and tigers, and bears...oh my!

 Ok, there were no lions or bears, but we did see tigers. After standing under this one prowling above us we see this sign. Now they tell us! Luckily no one got sprayed on this trip.

Save the Rainforest!

After going in circles through the rainforest, we stopped for a drink. Sadly most of the exhibits were empty. But we did see a sloth!

Choo Choo!

Of course we can't leave without a stop by the playground and a ride on the train. The train ride was a lot shorter than I remember it being from when I was little. 

And to end our trip...

a quick nap on dads shoulder. You can't visit the zoo without falling asleep by the end.
